Pastors start petition rebuking ‘anti-LGBT activist’ appointment to Michigan civil rights group.

A group of Jackson clergy have started a petition against Gov. Rick Snyder’s appointment of Bishop Ira Combs Jr. to the Michigan Civil Rights Commission. Combs, who leads Greater Bible Way Temple of the Apostolic Faith in Jackson, is known for his conservative views on social issues – including LGBT rights.

LGBT journalist escapes Russian Courts, arrives in Germany.

Khudoberdi Nurmatov, a journalist and LGBT activist who was detained by Russian authorities last year for violating migration laws, was granted court permission to go to Germany after he faced deportation back to his native Uzbekistan. The court’s decision last weekend successfully overturned previous court orders in Russia, and Nurmatov left Russia by plane on Thursday.
