What began as an event to bring together the global LGBTQ community at the turn of the millennium has evolved into the celebratory affair that we know today as World Pride. It would have been impossible to say back in 2000, when the inaugural World Pride was hosted in Rome, that less than two decades later cities from continent to continent would be making bids to bring the party to their streets.
