The US State Department continues to push for LGBT rights abroad.

The U.S. state department will keep pushing for “LGBT rights” abroad as it cuts more than half of its special programs devoted to causes like climate change and the Iran deal.

In 2015, the Obama administration announced the creation of an “envoy” to promote homosexuality abroad, called the Special Envoy for the Human Rights of LGBT Persons. The Obama administration appointed Randy Berry, who is openly gay. He remains in the position today.
