Love, Simon is many things: an upbeat and charming teen comedy, a leap forward for gay visibility in mainstream movies, and a therapeutic exercise for closeted teens who wish their parents were as accepting as Simon’s, played poignantly by Jennifer Garner and Fergie’s ex-husband. Kids will love it. Their parents will love it. Who wouldn’t love it?

Saints & Sinners: LGBT writing fest is a mainstay of the New Orleans literary scene.

The Saints and Sinners Literary Festival began, like many good things in New Orleans, as a conversation among friends. Partners Paul Willis and Greg Herren were musing over the possibility of combining ways to reach out with information about HIV/AIDS with an LGBTQ Literary Festival, and next thing you know, novelist Jean Redmann had come up with the perfect title: “Saints and Sinners.”

Comedian bashes ‘SNL’ for not casting an openly gay man in over 30 years.

Comedian James Adomian thinks it would be nice if “Saturday Night Live” put a gay man on the show ― something they haven’t done in more than 30 years. “I’ve been out of the closet the whole time since I auditioned 13 years ago.” Adomian told The Daily Beast at SXSW. “You would think that they would have tried to put someone else on that was a gay man. It’s about time.”

t’s going to be hard to talk about Love, Simon, the new gay teen romantic comedy from Fox (yep!), without it turning into a therapy session. Bright and attractive in both cast and production design, Greg Berlanti’s film—adapted from the best-selling young-adult novel Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda—has a pleasant bearing.

RuPaul apologizes for transgender comments: I ‘regret the hurt I have caused’.

RuPaul apologized for saying he would “probably not” allow a man who transitioned into a woman onto his hit competition show “RuPaul’s Drag Race.” In an interview with the Guardian, RuPaul, whose birth name is RuPaul Andre Charles, was asked if he would accept a contestant on his show who had begun transitioning.
