WAYS YOU CAN HELP THE LGBT COMMUNITY IN HOUSTON.

By now, you have heard of the devastation in Houston and the Texas Gulf Coast because of Hurricane Harvey. While a hurricane does not discriminate, many of the church-based charities do.

The Salvation Army has a history of denying benefits to members of the LGBT community. What we are asking is that you give to groups who help everyone, regardless of sexual orientation.

Here is a list of Houston organizations that are raising money through funds to distribute to the LGBT community. Below that are some LGBT direct service providers in Houston for you to reach out to.

We will update this list as we receive more information.

As with any charitable donation, we ask that you do your due diligence before making a contribution.

Charity Navigator houses a list of legitimate charities responding to the storm.
