Will and Grace’s return brings much needed LGBT visibility to TV.

US television is set to welcome back two flag-bearers of LGBTQ representation as NBC returns to a series that made history for the network in 1998: Will & Grace. The cast of Eric McCormack, Sean Hayes, Debra Messing and Megan Mullally have reunited to bring back a series that didn’t just devote one episode or designate a minor character as LGBTQ, but featured two gay main characters (McCormack, who plays Will, and Hayes, as his flamboyant friend Jack).

As a lawsuit continues to play out in court, transgender students in the Boyertown Area School District are still allowed to use bathrooms and locker rooms that correspond with their gender identity after a ruling from a federal judge in Easton, Pennsylvania Friday.

Nurse Jackie actor comes out in a big way. TMI?

Haaz Sleiman, a Lebanese-American actor best known for his role as gay nurse Mohammed “Mo-Mo” De La Cruz on the first season of Showtime’s Nurse Jackie, opened up about his sexuality earlier this week on social media. “I am a gay, Muslim, Arab-American man,” he says in a new video, responding to a recent study finding that more LGBT Americans were murdered so far this year than in all of 2016.

A Missouri school “wins” the award for being worst for LGBT students.

A school in Missouri is the most unfriendly to LGBT people out of hundreds of colleges, according to a survey published this month. The College of the Ozarks, a private Christian school in Point Lookout, Mo., topped the list as the worst for lesbian, gay, transgender and bisexual students out of 382 colleges. Valorie Coleman, a public relations director at the school, told the Springfield News-Leader that she does not consider the school hostile to LGBT people, but she acknowledged its strict rules against what she called sexual immorality.

Mormon’s will accept gay people, if they give up being gay.

Mormons, like evangelical Christians, say they don’t hate gay people. They will gladly accept you if you’re gay… as long as you promise to never fall in love and/or have sex. Because gay relationships are forbidden under the religious rules. But those same churches are also well-known for pushing marriage (at a young age, no less). So what do you do if you and your same-sex partner got married… but you both really want to join the Mormon Church (or rejoin, in one case)?

Record numbers come out in support of same-sex marriage in Melbourne.

A record-breaking number of people gathered in Melbourne to declare their support of same-sex marriage. Organizers say that at least 15,000 people attended a rally Saturday in the Australian city — which would make it one of the largest displays of support for LGBT rights in the country’s history, reports Reuters.

Transgender troops to attend the MTV VMAs.

MTV confirmed Saturday that transgender members of the U.S. military will be in attendance at Sunday’s Video Music Awards. Four active duty members have been confirmed, as well as at least one military veteran. In the wake of President Donald Trump’s decision to ban transgender people from serving in the military, the cable network extended an invitation on Thursday to those transgender individuals already serving to attend the ceremony.
