A French company offering “invisible PC spy software” has been criticised after it said its product could be used “to find out if your son is gay”. Listing a series of “clues”, the company, Fireworld, suggested that “hacking his Facebook account” and seeing if he had visited gay websites could confirm a parent’s suspicions. The company has since taken down the article. The post was highlighted by a French youth LGBT rights group.

Keep the pressure on liberal politicians.

The news that the former California attorney general and current senator is courting Hillary Clinton’s donors for a possible 2020 presidential run has ignited an intense discussion over her merits as a candidate.

Since 1964, when the U.S. Surgeon General first reported that the risks from smoking could not be ignored, tobacco use in the United States has plummeted. More than 40 percent of Americans smoked cigarettes in 1965. Over the last half-century, that smoking rate has fallen by half. And yet for some populations, the needle has barely moved. In fact, one of the U.S. demographics most burdened by tobacco’s wrath of illness and death are LGBT communities.

U.S. Soccer supports LGBTQ initiatives.

U.S. Soccer will donate more than $65,000 to the You Can Play Project after a series of initiatives celebrating LGBTQ Pride Month in June. The U.S. Men’s and Women’s National Teams wore pride-inspired jerseys with rainbow numbers during their June friendlies and the game-issued kits were autographed and auctioned online. All proceeds from the auction – which was a partnership with the respective players associations – as well as all sales of the jersey and a special commemorative hat have been donated to You Can Play.

On “Sex and the City,” Carrie Bradshaw was the self-proclaimed sex expert. She wrote a weekly column detailing her gripping sex life — and the sex lives of her friends — with the goal of sparking conversations about sex and dating across Manhattan. But for someone whose job was to write about the ins and outs of sex, Carrie was shockingly ignorant when it came to exploring sexuality — specifically, bisexuality. Carrie’s narrow view of bisexuality was incredibly problematic.
