Kim Davis, Nazis and LGBT groups.

Historical hot takes don’t appear to be Mat Staver’s strong point. In a new interview, the lawyer and chairman of the Liberty Counsel blasted the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) for designating groups like his own and the Family Research Council as hate groups. The proposed ordinance, which is still under review by the city attorney’s office, is intended to mirror one Laramie passed in 2015. It would make it illegal to fire employees or refuse to provide housing or other services on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity.
