It has been a bit more than two years since Jim Obergefell, a former Coldwell Banker West Shell agent in Cincinnati who has since moved to Washington, D.C., won his landmark Supreme Court case, Obergefell v. Hodges, that made marriage equality the law of the land.

Where do you stand on the transgender troops debate?

Americans oppose the President’s position on transgender individuals in the military. In the latest Economist/YouGov Poll, adults nationwide favor transgender troops serving openly and disapprove of the President’s announcement that the he would not “accept or allow” transgender troops – and they especially dislike his decision to make this announcement on Twitter.

LGBT & HIV/AIDS health conference.

Equitas Health’s Institute for LGBTQ Health Equity will host its second annual conference bringing together 550 activists, academics, community members, health and social service professionals to address health disparities affecting the LGBTQ and HIV/AIDS community. The conference will take place at The Ohio State University – Fawcett Center October 19th – 20th. This year’s theme will be “Health Across the Lifespan” with sessions focusing on: Mental and Behavioral Health Access to Care Cultural Competency/Humility Advocacy and Community Engagement Clinical/Medical

Gays go for the gold and win!

It’s been a summer to remember for three openly gay athletes, with two setting world records and a third winning a gold medal. It started in June when New Zealand rower Robbie Manson set a record in single sculls in winning the gold medal at the World Rowing Cup II in Poznan, Poland. Manson then won another gold medal a few weeks later at a world cup race in Switzerland.

Matchmaker, matchmaker, make me a match…

A young entrepreneur in India is playing matchmaker, arranging marriages between gay singles in a country where homosexuality is still technically illegal. Urvi Shah, 23, launched the International Marriage Bureau for Gays and Lesbians (IAGM) in 2015. Since then, IAGM has helped 21 couples in India, and more than 100 couples internationally, form long-term partnerships and marriages.
