Many from both political parties agree that gay conversion therapy is traumatic to children Unfortunately, the Republicans refuse to back this bill until churches are exempt from persecution if they counsel children on their sexuality. Carving out protections for religious organizations will allow them to do exactly what this bill is meant to stop.
