Beating out bids from Mexico and the United States, Hong Kong was selected as the host city for the 2022 Gay Games. LGBT rights are on the upswing in Asia and this continues the support for this part of the world. The games draw over 15,000 participants and is estimated to boost the economy by over $128 million.
