The Scottish government will be issuing an apology to the gay men who were were convicted under laws that criminalized homosexual behavior. Fortunately, those laws were changed in 2001, but unfortunately those criminalized still carried those convictions on their records. This subject has become more visible to the national press since Hurricane Harvey destroyed many parts of Houston in August. Since 1983, the US blood supply has been “gay free” by eliminating those men who have sex with men from giving blood.
