New LGBT media brand being launched by Condé Nast.

As speculation swirls about who will take the helm at Condé Nast titles Vanity Fair and Glamour, the publisher is quietly launching its first independent brand since Portfolio magazine debuted in 2007. (It was shut down two years later.)

Significant increase in number of people who identify as lesbian, gay or bisexual in UK.

The percentage of people identifying as lesbian, gay or bisexual increased significantly last year, to 2% of the UK population. The proportion was up from 1.7% in 2015, according to Office for National Statistics (ONS) figures published on Wednesday, and it means there were just over 1 million people identifying as LGB in 2016.

ENTERTAINMENT

Identifying as bisexual is trending among celebrities.

The proportion of women who say they are bisexual has almost doubled in five years as celebrities open up about their sexuality. According to data from the Office for National Statistics, the number of women who identify as bisexual has increased from 142,000 to 236,000 between 2012 and 2016.

US voted AGAINST a UN resolution condemning death for same-sex sexual acts.

The U.S. on Sept. 29 voted against a U.N. Human Rights Council resolution that condemns the death penalty for those found guilty of committing consensual same-sex sexual acts. The resolution — which Belgium, Benin, Costa Rica, France, Mexico, Moldova, Mongolia and Switzerland introduced — passed by a 27-13 vote margin.
