Coachella is funding anti-gay politicians. Is it time for a boycott?

Earlier this week, Coachella, the annual California music and arts festival, announced its 2018 lineup. The lineup includes Beyoncé, St. Vincent, Perfume Genius, Cardi B and Eminem alongside many other musicians. But just like last year, it has once again come to light that the festival’s owner Philip Anschutz has given nearly $200,000 to Republican politicians and Super PACs throughout 2017, including some who are anti-abortion and anti-LGBTQ rights. Half of Conservative party members in the UK oppose gay marriage.

Conservative Party members are a “breed apart” from the loyal followers of other UK political parties on issues like the death penalty, same-sex marriage, and education, according to new research. Academics at the Queen Mary University of London have found that a card-carrying Tory is much more likely to hold authoritarian views compared to Labour members and those of the Liberal Democrats. Record number of LGBTQ candidates seeking office in Texas.

At least 35 openly LGBTQ people intend to run for public office in Texas in 2018, roughly doubling the previous record for an election cycle in the state, Houston-based OutSmart Magazine reported Tuesday. Of the nearly three dozen candidates, two are running for governor, 13 are running for state and local judicial seats, 10 are campaigning for the state legislature and seven are running for Congress. Facebook ‘gay cure’ ad sparks outrage.

A video advertising gay ‘cure’ therapy has racked up more than 1.5 million views on Facebook. US evangelical Christian group Anchored North posted the shocking video, which is misleadingly titled ‘Love is Love’ and features a rainbow flag thumbnail – only to call for gay people to repent their sexuality. ISIS executioner who threw gay men off roofs is arrested.

An executioner infamous for stoning and throwing gay men off of roofs has been arrested. After receiving a tip from locals, Iraqi security forces captured Abu Omer, known as “White Beard” due to his facial hair, on January 1. News of his arrest was first reported by residents to the AhlulBayt News Agency, according to The Mirror.
