First active-duty gay couple married at West Point.

Two Army captains who met in the “don’t ask, don’t tell” era of the military, became the first active-duty, same-sex couple to get married at West Point when they exchanged vows last weekend. Capt. Daniel Hall, 30, and Capt. Vinny Franchino, 26, both Apache helicopter pilots, were married at the New York military academy’s picturesque chapel, the New York Times reported on Friday.

Nancy Pelosi to guest judge on ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ to show support for LGBT community.

Former House speaker Nancy Pelosi is throwing her hat into the competitive TV ring with a recently-announced guest judging appearance on VH1’s “RuPaul’s Drag Race.” Pelosi will be on the runway to judge Paul’s collection of drag queens for an episode of the series’ upcoming return. The California congresswoman confirmed the news on her Twitter.

Commentary – LGBT voters don’t have to support every LGBT candidate.

When Chelsea Manning announced she was running for the U.S. Senate, I knew I would be writing an article about it, even though I didn’t really want to. Within minutes of her announcing her Senate run, the bad takes were flying. Those who were not even fans of Chelsea were having to stomp down on the hateful and deliberate misgendering, which has to be lowest-hanging fruit to attack a trans person they don’t like; like we’ve never been called “it” before.
