Separate trans people from the LGBT movement? That’s what the bigots want.

It’s LGBT history month. Some celebrate by remembering the awesome people who risked reputations, careers, life and limb to battle bigotry. But some people seem to think the battle for equality has been won – and they’re linking arms with the bad guys. Nearly 50 years after trans women and allies kick-started the LGBT rights era, some people want to throw them under the very same bus that they helped to start.

Oops! The Eagle in Minneapolis welcomed lost Eagles fans…and they had a great time.

A group of Eagles fans settled down in a gay bar in Minneapolis to watch the Super Bowl last night after mistaking it for a sports bar, but they still had an incredible time. The group of fans did not have tickets to watch the game and so they decided to find a bar to watch it instead.

LGBTK? The “K” is for kink.

According to an article in The Gay UK, some people want to use “LGBTQQICAPF2K+” instead of “LGBT” — adding a “K” to represent “kink.” “There is now a K to add to the ever-growing LGBT+ acronym – and apparently, it stands for ‘kink,’”

Your LGBT Olympic update, three days before opening ceremonies.

Athletes have started arriving in South Korea in anticipation of the 2018 Winter Olympics. The opening ceremony is set for Friday for what is now officially the queerest Winter Olympics in history. Chief among them may be Team USA’s Gus Kenworthy, who has appeared in Olympics promotions from Xfinity to Head & Shoulders (not to mention appearing on The Advocate’s new cover).

HPV vaccines to be rolled out to UK gay community as girls-only approach ‘leaves gay men at risk.

The government has confirmed that it will introduce a nationwide HPV vaccination programme for men who have sex with men. A vaccination programme began in 2008 among school-age girls in the UK to tackle the human papilloma virus, which spreads through genital or oral contact and can cause a number of cancers.

US court considers potentially landmark LGBT housing case.

A federal appeals court is considering a 70-year-old woman’s potentially landmark case that alleges a Chicago-area senior living center did nothing to stop residents from hurling slurs, spitting on her and physically harassing her because of her sexual orientation. The 7th U.S. Court of Appeals will hear oral arguments in Marsha Wetzel’s case on Tuesday.
