Trump administration leaves key LGBTQ role vacant.

Under the Obama administration, Randy Berry was appointed to the role of US Special Envoy for the Human Rights of LGBTI Persons. The role allowed him to fight anti-LGBTQ legislation around the world. And even though Rex Tillerson – the US Secretary of State – vowed to keep the role, it has been vacant since Berry was moved to become the Deputy Assistant Secretary at the Bureau of Democracy…

When this grandfather came out as gay at age 95, two brothers grabbed the camera.

Ruth Blank looked into the camera while kissing Roman Blank, her husband of 65 years. “He is the love of my life. He is my darling,” she said.  Theirs was the model marriage. They had it all — love, business and family. “No one can outdo the family we have,” said Roman. But at 95 years old, Roman came out of the closet. Even more shocking is that Ruth, his loyal wife, was aware of the secret for almost 60 years.

Pentagon makes recommendations to White House on transgender individuals.

U.S. Defense Secretary Jim Mattis has made his recommendations to the White House on transgender individuals serving in the military, the Pentagon said on Friday, after President Donald Trump’s call last year for a ban on such service. Major David Eastburn, a Pentagon spokesman, said the recommendations had been made earlier on Friday and the White House would make any policy decisions.

Georgia Senate passes anti-LGBT adoption bill.

The Georgia Senate has passed a bill that would allow adoption agencies receiving taxpayer funding to refuse to work with same-sex couples. Sponsored by Sen. William Ligon, a Brunswick Republican, the measure was passed Friday by a vote of 35 to 19 after about an hour of contentious debate. Ligon said the proposal is needed to ensure that faith-based organizations are not kept out of civic life.
