It seems that Trump’s ban on transgender troops was not what the public wanted.
The President’s order last Friday to ban most transgender troops from the U.S. military isn’t a change most Americans support. While the latest Economist/YouGov Poll finds partisan division on the question, overall Americans clearly favor allowing transgender troops to serve. Veterans and those 65 and older are among the least likely groups to know a transgender person (only 11% of veterans and 13% of those 65 and older say they do).

Kansas House rejects bill letting agencies refuse LGBT adoptions.
The Kansas House has rejected a bill that would have allowed adoption and foster care contractors to refuse placements to gay and lesbian couples based on religious grounds. The Wichita Eagle reports that the House voted down the measure Thursday, hours after the state Senate approved nearly identical legislation.

Earlier this year, Bermuda made international news by repealing a law that allowed same-sex marriage. The move came as a surprise, both because it represented a step back for LGBTQ rights and because it showed an ugly, less tolerant side of the island’s culture. Ex-gay conversion therapy group continued to operate secretly after court shut it down.
In 2015, a New Jersey jury came to a unanimous verdict that the Jewish ex-gay organization JONAH was guilty of consumer fraud for advertising treatments they claimed could change a person’s sexual orientation from gay to straight. Though the court ordered JONAH to shut down, a new complaint from the Southern Poverty Law Center contends that JONAH simply changed its name and continued to offer — and profit from — dangerous conversion therapy.
