New Trump transgender military policy bars those with gender dysphoria.

A new policy memo from President Donald Trump concerning transgender service members may allow some to serve, but keep in place tight restrictions for many. The White House memo, released late Friday night, highlights recommendations from Defense Secretary Jim Mattis that individuals with a history or diagnosis of gender dysphoria be barred from serving, saying these people “may require substantial medical treatment, including medications and surgery.”

San Francisco airport terminal to be renamed in honor of Harvey Milk.

San Francisco is preparing to rename a terminal at the San Francisco International Airport after slain LGBT supervisor Harvey Milk and install artwork memorializing the civil rights icon. The name change was first introduced in 2013 by then-Supervisor David Campos, who had initially hoped to name the entire airport after Milk, the first openly gay elected official in a major city, but the proposal met with opposition.

Historic LGBT flag makes its way to Starkville, Mississippi.

As Starkville Pride gears up for its LGBT parade this Saturday, a piece of history will march in the streets with participants. Known as Section No. 93, the enormous 25-foot-long, 14-feet-wide rainbow flag is making the journey from Key West, Florida to Starkville, Mississippi.

Governor John Bel Edwards’ LGBT executive order dies in Louisiana Supreme Court.

The Louisiana Supreme Court has sided with Attorney General Jeff Landry over Gov. John Bel Edwards in a fight over whether the governor had the authority to order protections for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people who work for state government. “Hopefully, this will end the Governor’s waste of precious taxpayer resources in defense of his unconstitutional actions,” Landry said in a written statement Friday (March 23).
