IT LOOKS like any map of the world — but this picture warns of dangers travellers need to beware. The map released by insurance company Travel Insurance Direct identifies countries and territories according to how tolerant — or outright hostile — they are to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex people, including visiting Australians.

When doctors’ ‘morality’ leads to dead LGBT people.

It’s no secret that Donald Trump’s White House is hostile to women and the LGBTQ community, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise the Department of Health and Human Services proposed a rule that would put both groups at risk by letting health care workers refuse people care based on health workers’ “religious beliefs or moral convictions.”

NFL still investigating gay Combine questions.

The NFL front office is still investigating and reviewing the case of an NFL team asking prospective draftees if they “like men.” The issue stems from comments made by LSU Tigers running back Derrius Guice after the NFL Combine. “I go in one room, and a team will ask me do I like men, just to see my reaction,” Guice said at the time.

Coachella co-owner with anti-LGBTQ history donates $1 million to Elton John AIDS Foundation.

Billionaire businessman Philip Anschutz, the entertainment conglomerate chairman known for bankrolling controversial right-wing causes, donated $1 million to Elton John AIDS Foundation’s LGBT Fund earlier this week, according to a press release. The fund “tackles the stigma, discrimination and violence that prevents LGBT people in Sub-Saharan Africa from accessing the health and HIV services they need.”

Kenya court outlaws forced anal exams in landmark victory for gay rights.

Kenya’s Court of Appeal on Thursday ruled that the use of forced anal exams used to determine whether gay men engaged in sex is illegal. The National Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission (NGLHRC) took the case to court after two men were arrested in 2015 on suspicion of having sex.

Health and Human Services is erasing bisexual and lesbian women.

It seems that HHS has begun “erasing” bisexual and lesbians from their most active female web sites, womenshealth.gov. The trend in the current administration to ignore that the LGBT community exists. The tragic part of this is that it has been proven many times that health care for the LGBT community needs to be addressed in different ways that from our straight counterparts.
