Suspects in attack after Miami Beach gay pride parade could be charged with hate crime.

Four men turned themselves in to Miami Beach police on Tuesday afternoon in the case of a gay couple brutally attacked after the city’s gay pride parade. The men surrendered through an attorney and have been charged with aggravated battery, according to the arrest reports.

An award that is given to military spouses for their dedication to the community has for the first time been awarded to an LGBT Navy spouse. Brian Alvarado, of San Diego, was recently selected as Navy Spouse of the Year by “Military Spouse,” an organization that supports the military community when their husbands and wives are deployed.

Migrant caravan in Mexico: Many transgender migrants traveling with group.

A special room has been set up for transgender migrants from Central America in a caravan. The room has a blue sign with the symbol of both a man and a woman. Migrants are sleeping at the Parroquia de Asunción, a church in Puebla that has been converted into a shelter. There are many transgender migrants traveling with the caravan, fleeing persecution in their home countries.

Brian Sims, an LGBTQ rights advocate and state representative from Pennsylvania, responding on Twitter to a Metro Weekly story about Australian rugby player Israel Folau’s martyr complex. Folau suggested he has been “persecuted” for his beliefs after receiving backlash for a comment he posted on Instagram saying that gay people were going to hell.
