Commonwealth nations tell Theresa May they won’t decriminalize gay sex.

This week, the U.K. hosted the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in London, addressing shared global challenges and planning strategies for a brighter future. One issue human rights activists had been pressing Prime Minister Theresa May to address is the criminalization of homosexuality in former British colonies: Of the 53 countries in the Commonwealth, 37 ban same-sex behavior to one degree or another.

Trump admin wants to roll back health rules for underrepresented groups.

The Trump administration has plans to reverse Obama-era health care rules that currently protect transgender individuals from discrimination and decades-old exemptions that shelter Native Americans from certain burdensome federal health requirements. U.S.’s largest LGBT group takes on workplace discrimination in Mexico.

The HRC Foundation, an arm of the Human Rights Campaign, is launching their second survey of major Mexican corporations to gauge their policies on LGBT employees. EquidadMX: Programa Global de Equidad Laboral will query more than 50 Mexican companies — including the nation’s largest, the state-owned oil company Pemex — on how they treat their workers.

Study: LGBTQ acceptance has increased globally, but is more polarized.

A new study has found that acceptance of LGBTQ people has increased globally since 1980, though the world is also more polarized in its acceptance than ever before. The study was one of three conducted and released Wednesday by the Williams Institute at UCLA School of Law, which does independent research on sexual orientation and gender identity public policy.
