LGBTQ protections in Michigan are in limbo.

On Friday, Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette announced state law does not prohibit LGBTQ bias. This comes just two months after civil rights advocates celebrated what they thought was legal protection. Many in the LGBTQ community says they are disappointed. In 1976, Michigan’s Elliot-Larson act was passed. It prohibited employment and housing discrimination in various categories including sex.

Josh Hader meets with Billy Bean, gives tearful apology for anti-gay tweets.

Josh Hader, the All-Star pitcher whose racist and homophobic tweets generated a firestorm this week, had a Friday filled with education and remorse. Earlier today he stood in front of his Milwaukee Brewers teammates, just back from the All-Star break, and apologized in no uncertain terms. Reports say he was both tearful and remorseful in his apology.

Representing the West Hollywood Aquatics Team, WH2O, he proved that gay men are just as athletic and capable as straight competitors — and in this case, more so.
