December 25, 2018 – Patrick Rylee The World Tree of Hope is created each year as a symbol of global unity to promote peace, love and humanitarianism. The tree is decorated with origami cranes and stars made out of messages sent from throughout the world either by mail or online at rainbowfund.org/tree. Each origami is created by a team of over 300 volunteers who fold the messages into these beautiful symbols of hope. This year’s tree is 23 feet tall and decorated in over 17,000 origami ornaments. It moved to Grace Cathedral this year after spending 10 years at San Francisco City Hall. The World Tree of Hope can be seen in the Cathedral interior through January 6, 2019.
