I had the opportunity to talk with psychotherapist and author, Michael Dale Kimmel, about his new book, “The Gay Man’s Guide to Open and Monogamous Marriage.” Having written a book of my own on modern marriage, I am particularly interested in how Kimmel not only provides a necessarily specific guide for male-male marriages, but also how this wisdom can be utilized by all couples, regardless of gender.
A Kyrgyz fashion-world celebrity has drawn criticism after apparently calling for the mass execution of “nontraditional” sexual minorities and prostitutes in the Central Asian republic. In a Facebook post on August 10, Amina Yusurova, a fashion model and national director of the Kyrgyzstan World Beauty Congress, wrote: “Round up all the people of nontraditional orientation and blow them all up on one island.”
Years have passed since major corporations began to take notice of the LGBTQ community’s buying power, as well as its growing prominence. Companies are still developing strategies to target the LGBTQ consumer market. One major way to reach these consumers — tried, true and effective — is through sponsoring major events, like Pride festivals and Human Rights Campaign (HRC) projects.

More LGBT people have been killed in what advocacy groups categorize as hate-violence-related homicides so far in 2017 than in all of 2016, according to data from an LGBT rights organization.
The NHL became the first major professional sports league to publicly oppose an anti-LGBTQ bill currently making its way through the Texas Legislature, joining the Dallas Stars in opposition, per Sportsnet’s Mark Spector. The league also said it will “reassess” hosting the 2018 NHL Draft in Dallas if the bill passes.
