Lena Waithe and Aziz Ansari took home the Emmy for outstanding writing for a comedy series for their work on Master of None — but Waithe’s powerful acceptance speech deserves an award of its own. The Emmy Awards have wrapped. “Big Little Lies” was a big winner along with Donald Glover, “Saturday Night Live” and “The Handmaid’s Tale.” Lena Waithe made history as the first black woman to win for writing in a comedy series, “Handmaid’s” was the first streaming show to win drama, and Donald Glover was the first black man to win directing in comedy. It’s been 10 years since then-Myspace celebrity Chris Crocker posted a tear-filled plea for the world to “Leave Britney Alone,” a legendary moment in the history of the internet that people still talked about today.
