Did you know that gay and bisexual men get less routine health care than other men do?  That lesbian and bisexual women are less likely to have a usual place to go for medical care?  According to the US Transgender Survey, almost a quarter of transgender people avoid going to the doctor for needed medical care out of the fear of being mistreated.

Worcester is painting the town “rainbow” for Pride.

When Worcester pride kicks off next month, downtown crosswalks are getting a makeover ahead of the parade and festival. This year, Worcester Pride is not only painting a rainbow flag on a downtown crosswalk, but also the transgender flag and a new rainbow flag with added colors. It’s the first time the group has painted a crosswalk during its pride celebration, something done in other cities, like Boston.

Torremolinos is the hot new LGBT destination.

NINE LGTBI associations have registered in Torremolinos in recent months, it has been revealed The development comes after Torremolinos has become a destination for lesbians, gay people, transsexuals, bisexuals and intersex people, something which has been embraced by the current council.

Pride Day at the NY State Fair.

A singer-songwriter featured on a gay rights anthem and a central New York native who was the manager at Pulse nightclub in Orlando will headline Pride Day events Friday at the New York State Fair. Mary Lambert, who was featured on “Same Love” with Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, is among several acts scheduled to perform at the new Empire Experience Stage in the fair’s New York Experience.

Connecting LGBT patients with inclusive doctors with new app.

Three medical students at the University of Pennsylvania are getting ready launch their LGBTQ-focused health care app, SpectrumScores, by the end of August. The app will connect lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer patients with doctors who have been recognized as LGBTQ-friendly by advocacy organizations, academic medical centers and, eventually, the app users themselves.

Lesbian attorney general candidate working to protect all people of Michigan.

When civil rights and criminal attorney Dana Nessel officially announced her campaign for state attorney general on Aug. 15 she said she will work to protect all the people, including members of the LGBTQ community. “Instead of harassing them, persecuting them and making them feel like they don’t belong in our state,” said Nessel last week in Braun Court.
