The work of late gay rights activist and politician Harvey Milk will be celebrated in San Francisco’s famous Castro District with a large set of ramping steps, designed by US architecture firm Perkins Eastman. The stepped memorial will be built on Harvey Milk Plaza, an open square named to commemorate of Milk and his work in the 1970s as an activist for LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and queer) rights in the city. Two lions spotted in a gay sexual encounter must have seen a homosexual couple “behaving badly” in their park and should be separated and given counselling, an official in Kenya said. The animals were photographed after one mounted the other in a secluded bush area of the Masai Mara game reserve in the south-west of the African country. Shannon Minter is the transgender attorney and Legal Director for the National Center for Lesbian Rights and at the forefront of the legal proceedings against the Trump transgender troop ban. He was also the attorney who won the California Supreme Court ruling that allowed same-sex marriage in California. This was the first step in marriage equality. Shortly after that, the LGBT community lost those rights because of the losing the Prop 8 vote, but his legal foundation in the California Supreme Court is credited as the basis for the other cases that continued to the US Supreme Court. The AIDS Memorial Quilt, over 49,000 panels that represent the lives of those lost to AIDS, moves to a more central location in Atlanta. Technology will enhance the viewing experience. The quilt moved from San Francisco to Atlanta in 2001 and was housed in a warehouse.
