There’s a unique scholarship for LGBT students who want to attend the University of Toledo. It’s called the Anaya/Arroyo Scholarship, for undergrads who identify as LGBT. It honors Dr. Rane Arroyo a former UT English professor and former student Troy Anaya Jr.
More than 450 guests and celebrities filled the Beverly Hilton Hotel to support lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) students at Point Honors Los Angeles. Point Foundation (Point), the evening’s beneficiary, is the nation’s largest scholarship-granting organization for LGBTQ students. The gala evening also included an announcement by Wells Fargo of $1.8 million in continued support for Point.
Only a handful of Nashville’s official historical markers recognize contemporary achievements, but the city is getting another. The Metro Historical Commission has approved Nashville’s first marker recognizing an LGBT rights activist.
People have come up with some interesting terms to describe gay and bisexual people over the last few centuries. While I could fill up a lake with slang terms for queer people, I find the non-slang terms more interesting because it means that someone was taking us seriously, but sometimes from a strange point of view.

Thomas Kennard is among the handful of transgender singers in the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus — and proud to be one of its lowest basses. “People say, ‘I thought you would be a tenor,’” Kennard says, demonstrating the guttural depths of his range.
The Prime Minister of Curaçao Eugene Rhuggenaath has called during the Gay Pride Parade in Willemstad for more acceptance. He said not to accept if people live in fear because of their sexual preference. Gay activists in Curacao call the speech “historical”.
