Hundreds of Sydneysiders have attended a rally supporting same-sex marriage, on the eve of a Liberal party room meeting on the issue. Protesters carried signs saying, “Love is about hearts not parts”, “We didn’t vote on your marriage” and “Just let my mums get married” at the event at Town Hall, organised by GetUp and Community Action Against Homophobia.

Russian gay rights activist facing certain death if deported to Uzbekistan
A Russian gay rights activist is living in the “shadow of death” as authorities threaten to deport him to Uzbekistan, where homosexuality is illegal. Ali Feruz, 30, was detained and allegedly tortured for two days by the Uzbek National Security Service in 2009 and fled the country two years later.

Pride is rocking on in Europe…take a look
Brighton was awash in a riot of rainbow colours as people dressed up and took to the streets to celebrate LGBTQ+ pride. Approximately 300,000 people descended on the seaside city for one of the UK’s biggest annual summer Pride celebrations today. The Pet Shop Boys are to headline the event in Brighton and Hove in what will be the duo’s first Pride performance in 20 years, organisers said.

Northern Ireland showing support for LGBT rights…finally.
The British government ordered a rainbow flag to be raised above its main office in Belfast on Friday to coincide with a gay pride festival in Northern Ireland, the only British region that still forbids gay marriage.

CELTIC and Rangers have united to promote better inclusion for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in Scotland. The Old Firm sides and a host of others from across the SPFL have signed up to the Scottish LGBT Sports Charter.
